Brief Design a brand identity for a Norwegian body care brand that feels protocol-driven, Nordic in origin, and distinct in a market saturated with wellness aesthetics and ritual language. The brand needed to function as clearly as the product it represents, a fixed four-step morning system built on thermal contrast, not occasion, not decoration. Approach The name Sans Æra, holding a dual meaning, to sense, and without era, set the tone: precise, timeless, and undecorated. The reversed N and R in the wordmark were not stylistic choices, they perform the brand's core logic, where inversion and contrast are functional principles. The visual system draws directly from Norwegian sauna culture, making the four-step morning protocol the foundation of the brand. Solution Rather than a beauty-centric identity, a complete protocol system was developed, functioning as a fixed sequence that carries the brand independently of aesthetics. The product range was structured as four steps: Heat, Cold, Seal, Refresh, each with four variants, producing a sixteen-SKU system where the protocol remains constant and only the gradient field and variant line change between SKUs. Every touchpoint follows the same thermal logic and typographic hierarchy, making the brand scalable and unambiguous across formats. The project was developed using Claude as the primary strategic and copywriting environment, and a custom Gemini app connected to Nano Banana Pro for visual rendering.
